Then came requests for couples to be married, some after many years of cohabitation. Joseph found local ministers to perform the marriages and helped to establish new Christian converts in local congregations. His local church in the United States, the Pilgrim Church in Beverly, Massachusetts, began raising funds for this mission work and a leadership team formed.
An outdoor prayer and worship pavilion was constructed in Faugasse, a small town located on the southwestern peninsula of Haiti near the city of Les Cayes.
Next, the Pilgrim School was established so that some of the poverty stricken and orphaned children of the area could attend school and gain hope for their future. Adult literacy classes are given in the evenings at the school. Next a well was drilled to bring fresh water for the community. A local nurse began to volunteer her time for the school. Now a medical clinic is being built that also will serve the community. Food is distributed to the hungry four times a year. In Les Cayes a youth group formed that has exploded in popularity. Doorway to Peace hopes to build a center for the youth in the near future. The dream of establishing a prayer center for Christians from all over Haiti to congregate and for Christians from the world to visit, exchange ideas and to experience the culture of Haiti firsthand is becoming a reality.
Doorway to Peace now has the property where the Mt. Zion Prayer Center will be built. It is located on a hill near Faugasse. The plans for the building have been drawn by Engineering Ministries International Canada. Soon construction will begin. After that there are plans for orphan housing to be built near the school. Through all of this the love of God is being demonstrated and the Word of God is being spread in this land so in need of revival.

Meanwhile in the United States other ministers joined with Joseph and Gama to form a core team of leaders living and working across this country. What began as a local church mission project at the Pilgrim Church in Beverly, Massachusetts has become a formal non profit ministry, Doorway to Peace.
The principle leadership team of Doorway to Peace, that exists only with the help and prayer of many others, are: Joseph Delva, Gama Belizaire, Eddie Olmstead, Taylor Camera, Tim Lanigan, Ray Alceria and Marlane Codair.
